Overview
Although 44% of the professional employees in the Federal Executive Branch are women, only 29% of the Senior Executive Service is female. The Women's Leadership Seminar was developed to prepare women for leadership positions in Government. The seminar explores the myths and facts about women leaders and helps you understand the challenges, concerns and trade-offs unique to being a woman in a leadership role.
The Women's Leadership Seminar will help you discover your own leadership style while exploring other models and analyzing emotional intelligence. You will also examine organizational cultures, unwritten rules and strategies for overcoming barriers. You will hear from senior women leaders in Federal service and learn what it takes to put leadership theory into action, how to be a good leader and how to exhibit courage when needed. The seminar features small workgroups where you will develop action plans for improving leadership effectiveness back at work.
