Overview
In today's Government, more and more people are taking advantage of flexible work options such as telework. Agencies are meeting staffing needs with employees who work "virtually" a large percentage of their time and are dispersed across several locations. A dispersed workforce creates the unique challenge of effectively managing a mixed workforce of teleworkers, on-site workers and off-site workers. This seminar will provide strategies for effective management in this new reality.
Through instruction and sharing of best practices you will learn how telework and other nontraditional work arrangements affect how you manage your workgroup, and how to make objective decisions about the use of these arrangements. You will apply performance management tools to supervise and support employees who are working in nontraditional work settings. Finally, you will gain tactics for setting realistic expectations for your entire work unit to achieve sustainable results.
